Admixtures
SCP offers several concrete admixtures to help Decorative Concrete contractors increase the quality of their installations.
For hot weather concreting, the Fritz-Pak Mini Delay Set Retarders delay the set of concrete giving the contractor more time to finish and stamp the slab.
Advantages:
- One bag typically retards the set of 1 yard of concrete for one hour.
- Can be added on-site so the delay is not wasted in transit.
- Color safe.
- Gives contractors more time to finish imprinting the slab.Especially near the end of the pour.
For use in Stamped Concrete
The process of stamping concrete may be slow and contractors and contractors may not have enough time to imprint all the concrete properly from the initial concrete discharged to the final concrete discharged.We recommend retarding the second half of the load:
- Discharge the first half of the concrete load normally.
- Add 3-5 bags of Mini Delay Set to the second half of the of the mix still in the mixing drum and mix for 5-7 minutes.
- Place the second half of the concrete, which is now delayed.
- Begin the stamped concrete process normally.The second half of the slab will be delayed so a consistent impression can be stamped in the entire slab.
